Residential Delivery Charges
These are the Delivery Charges of your Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) as of December 1, 2018. These charges are total amounts assessed by a TDSP for the delivery of electricity to a customer over poles and wires and other TDSP facilities not including discretionary charge. Actual Delivery Charges are passed through without mark-up from V247 Power.
TDU Charges
Delivery Charges are approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and apply to all residential customers, serviced by the TDSP, regardless of who their retail electricity provider is. The Delivery Charges are displayed under a separate section on the monthly bill under the description “Delivery Charges” so it’s easy to find them.
How does this affect my bill?
Your monthly usage determines your bill causing it to go up or down monthly. The Fixed Energy Charges and Base Charge (if any) that are displayed on the Electricity Facts Label you received initially upon enrollment will not change throughout the duration (term) of your selected plan. Having said that, any TDU Delivery Charges will be passed through on your monthly invoice as billed by the TDU.
Why are these fees separated on my bill?
We do this because we believe that your bill should be read and understood as easy as possible. Additionally, V247 Power does not have any hidden fees and will be transparent during your initial enrollment with us. The average price you enroll on—9.9₵ per kWh at the 2000 kWh consumption level, for example—already includes your TDU charges.
How do I calculate delivery charges and will they stay the same every month?
Certain TDU charges are billed on a monthly basis, and some are billed on a usage basis (kWh aka. per kilowatt hour). Because of this, your total TDU Charges will vary each month based on your total monthly kilowatt-hour usage. Refer to the table above for an itemized listing of the detailed charges that make up Delivery Charges in your area for a better understanding. Furthermore, use the provided formula to roughly calculate your TDU charges of any given month.
What are other fees that I need to be aware of?
Different charges such as Demand Charge, Late Payment, City Sales Tax, Meter Charge, etc…are reviewed and approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). For a comprehensive list of all the charges on your electric bill, visit the PUCT website to know more.
